Make this beautiful, snowy white Christmas punch that even the kiddos can enjoy. It's so good and easy to make, it will become one of your holiday traditions.
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. hot water
3 oz. (6 T.) evaporated milk
1 t. almond extract
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
2 liter lemon lime soda, like 7UP or Sprite
whipped cream and festive sprinkles, optional
Combine sugar and water in a small glass bowl. Stir in evaporated milk and almond extract.
Heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until sugar is dissolved. Cool. This can be done days in advance and stored in the refrigerator, if desired.
When ready to serve, pour into a large punch bowl. Scoop the ice cream on top, breaking it up until it's smooth and creamy. Slowly stir in the lemon lime soda.
Ladle into serving glasses.
Serve immediately with a straw, garnished with whipped cream and sprinkles, if desired.
