Otakus all over the world rejoice as the highly anticipated teaser for “Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc” has been released a few days ago.
Despite running only for 33 seconds, it showed great amounts of footage and scenes enough to whet the appetite of fans all over.
These includes Kenshin Hemura, the film's protagonist, a former assassin and now a wandering swordsman, beating the crap out of a multitude of goons, (as always), and also a battle between him and a horde of police forces is shown.
Not to mention, A split-second scene of Kenshin fighting with who seems to be Aoshi Shinomori, leader of the Oniwabanshu ninja clan, which can be seen at 00:13, as well as a fight with the blond-haired Chō Sawagejō (presumably) at 00:18, the sword-collecting assassin and member of Juppongatana.
But definitely the biggest money shot here is the appearance of Shishio Makoto at 00:28, leader of the Juppongatana and the film’s primary villain. He will be portrayed by Tatsuya Fujiwara, famous for playing Light Yagami in the live action adaptation of “Death Note”. Meanwhile Takeru Satoh and Emi Takei reprises their roles as Kenshin Hemura and Kamiya Kaoru.
“Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc” will be released in Japan summer next year.
