The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Official Teaser Trailer Pierces Through The Web

The world isn’t yet through getting over the tide of blockbusters that have barraged cinemas this year, from Iron Man 3 to Man of Steel to Pacific Rim, and here comes another teaser trailer that once electrifies nerds and movie geeks around, the second installment to The Hobbit saga that left everyone satisfied and cliffhanging last year, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Still a part of Peter Jackson’s adaptation to the J.R.R Tolkien children’s book, the sequel treats us to a cast of new characters (some are really in the book, some are not) including the Sindarin Elf King and father to Legolas, Thranduil played by Lee Pace, Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel (supplanting the role of Arwen), and the returning fabulously-haired elf-archer Legolas, reprised by Orlando Bloom, not to mention, another archer, Bard the Bowman, played by Orlando Bloom-doppelganger, Luke Evans (seriously, fans are constantly mistaking the two for each on the set).

But, probably the biggest money shot is the film’s draconian titular villain, Smaug, finally revealing his behemoth face to Bilbo, all angry and fiery.

The movie opens on December 13, 2013.
