The ceilings of the Opera Garnier' were all hand painted. There are cherubs and angels, Greek Gods and Goddesses, and mosaic masterpieces. The ceiling shown in this photo is a mosaic work of art by artisans from Italy. The Italian artists were brought to Paris and commissioned to do this ceiling.
