The Way Of The Cross (B)

Matthew 16:24 – “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Comment:
This command echoes across the centuries. Jesus spoke it to His closest followers, revealing that the path to glory always passes through the cross. The religious hypocrites Jesus called vipers refused self-denial; they loved their own lives. Today, count the cost and choose the narrow way. Deny self—your plans, reputation, and pleasures—and follow Christ wherever He leads.

As Easter nears, let the cross crucify every selfish motive. The empty tomb awaits those who have walked the way of suffering with Jesus. Embrace the cross now so resurrection life flows freely through you on Sunday. The risen King is worth every sacrifice.
