According to a top Catholic Church "angelologist" Father Renzo Lavatori, angels don't actually look like what we portray them to be.

They don't have wings, neither do they look like cute cherubs. In fact, they don't have any solid form whatever.

"You do not see angels so much as feel their presence," said Lavatori, adding: "They are a bit like sunlight that refracts on you through a crystal vase."

He says that he is pleased that angel topics are becoming popular again, but that we should know more about their real function in our lives.
