Chapter 2 part 4My adopted mother's health had taken a turn for the worse, and she was rushed to the hospital. Her children were still in high school, and there was no one to care for me. I was dropped off at my grandparents' house, a place that would become synonymous with pain and rejection.
The days that followed were a blur of tears and heartache. I was dressed in clothes that made me look like a miniature adult, my innocence and childhood stripped away. My grandparents' treatment of me was cold and distant, making me feel like I was a burden, a weight they didn't want to carry.
When I was finally returned to my adopted parents' home, I was a changed child. My adopted brother was shocked by my appearance, and he gently urged his sister to clean me up, to restore the childhood that had been taken away from me.
As I sat in the lounge, surrounded by the people I loved, I saw my birth family still there, their presence a painful reminder of the rejection I had faced. I felt a surge of anger and hurt, and I spoke words that would haunt me for years to come. "What are they still doing here?" I asked, my voice trembling with emotion. "Can you guys please get out of my father's house? I am by my father's house now. Didn't you say I must come here? So I am here. Get out, I don't wanna see y'all."
My adopted mother was taken aback by my outburst, but I couldn't help it. I was a child, desperate for love and acceptance, and I was tired of being hurt. I burst into tears, telling them about the pain and rejection I had faced at my grandparents' house.
As I looked back on that moment, I realized that I was not alone. God was with me, watching over me, and guiding me through the darkest moments of my life. He saw the pain I was in, and He was working everything out for my good.
But in that moment, all I could feel was the pain and the hurt. I was a child, lost and alone, searching for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. But God saw me, and He reached out to me,
