Description
Use your crock pot to make an amazing, delicious main dish that is economical and easy to prepare. Serve it with mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles, if desired.
Ingredients
- Patties:
- 1 lb. ground beef, 7% fat
- 1/2 c. crushed crackers (or bread crumbs)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 T. milk
- 1/8 t. salt
- 1/4 t. black pepper
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- 1/2 t. dried oregano
- 2 T. cooking oil (to brown the patties)
- Gravy:
- 10.5 oz. can cream of mushroom soup (or other cream of soup)
- 1.74 oz. brown gravy mix packets from two .87 oz. packets
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 t. dried thyme
- Vegetables:
- 2 c. fresh sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, sliced
Steps
- In a large bowl, add ground beef, crackers, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder and oregano; mix with clean hands, not over mixing. Form mixture into 4 patties; set aside.
- In another large bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, both gravy packets, thyme and water until smooth; set aside.
- In a large skillet set over medium-high heat, add just enough oil to coat the bottom. When oil and skillet are hot, add patties; brown on both sides, not cooking through. They will finish cooking in the crock pot.
