Dickens Christmas Festival

The Dickens Christmas Festival is presented by historic Simi Covenant Church with some help by the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses for the joy of the whole Simi Valley community!

2012 is a great year to start a new tradition about Victorian England in Simi Valley because it's the bicentennial of Dickens' birth!

Saturday December 8th and Sunday December 9th from 1pm-7pm there will be street performers, costumed characters, strolling carolers, jugglers, train rides, food vendors of many varieties, and the streets of 19th century London recreated inside the church building complete with lots of Christmas craft booths.

There will be games for kids including bobbing for apples, and also a steam locomotive train ride for the whole family--yes a real train ride! There will be contests for the best Victorian costume, the best Steampunk costume, and the best English accent :)

Everyone is invited (but not required of course) to dress up in your favorite 19th century outfit! Feel free to dress in either classic Victorian or more of a Steampunk (Neo/Futuristic Dickens) attire.
