For decades, the world’s most famous super spy, James Bond, has been getting all the light and fame in the Hollywood big screen. But the man who started this all was kept obscured in pages of books and magazines.
Well, not anymore, as actor Dominic Cooper is now set to play the former naval intelligence officer-turned-novelist Ian Fleming in a BBC four-part miniseries entitled “Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond”.
Directed by Mat Whitecross, the drama series will follow a younger, charismatic, and flashy Fleming whose love for women, pleasure, and spy gadgets turned around when World War II break lose, leading to the inception of “a spy story to end all spy stories” and the birth of Agent 007.
Fresh from playing as Howard Stark, another mischievous playboy genius in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dominic Cooper will give life to the ultimate spy novelist. The miniseries will be shown on BBC this January 29, 2014. Seriously, the guy could play Bond himself.
