The already spectacular reunion of action movie titans is still leveling up the ante, as more and bigger stars are joining the cast of the much anticipated Expendables 3.
But, unfortunately, headlining these is the news of a major cast leaving the franchise. Last Tuesday, Sylvester Stallone twitted that co-star Bruce Willis is already out of the sequel due to fallout in negotiation in which Bruce asked to raise the fee from $3 million to $4 million for a four-day filming in Bulgaria, otherwise he would drop out of the film.
It was a demand Sly immediately threw out of the window and, in a quick turn of events, enlists Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford as Willis’ replacement within 72 hours. "WILLIS OUT . . . HARRISON FORD IN!!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!” as Stallone twitted, followed by "GREEDY AND LAZY . . . A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE.", obviously pertaining to Willis.
It is yet to be confirmed if Ford will play Willis’ role or he will be introduced as a new character.
And eight hours ago, Stallone confirmed that Mad Max actor Mel Gibson has officially signed for a role yet to be announced, but what is sure is that he will be playing the movie’s villain. Joining him is Zorro star Antonio Banderas in also an unknown role.
Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Milla Jovovich, and Wesley Snipes are reportedly still in talks of joining the lineup. The film will be directed by Patrick Hughes and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and Jet LI all reprising their roles, and will be released August 2014.
