It is official. The "Mother of Dragons" will soon be John Connor’s mom, too, as Emilia Clarke has been tapped to play Sarah Connor in the upcoming “Terminator” reboot.
Clarke first rose to fame by playing Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s phenomenal series “Game of Thrones”. She beat out Brie Larson for the much coveted role previously held by Linda Hamilton and Lena Headey.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will also return for the title role, a character he made famous three decades ago, and spawned three sequels and a TV series.
Scheduled to be released on July 1, 2015, the film will directed by Alan Taylor, whose previous stint was the blockbuster Marvel film "Thor: The Dark World” as well as six episodes of the “Game of Thrones” series.
The plot for the reboot is yet to be revealed, but what is certain is this will be an entirely new trilogy, independent from the previous ones.
Meanwhile, negotiations are being done with “Zero Dark Thirty” star Jason Clarke to play Sarah’s son, John Connor, future leader of the human resistance against the Skynet.
Also, actors Nicholas Hoult , Garrett Hedlund, Boyd Holbrook, and Taylor Kitsch are all being considered for the role of John Connor’s father, Kyle Reese, previously played by Michael Biehn.
