The Internet may say everything they want against Ben Afflect, but the creative minds behind Hollywood will always seem to disagree.
One of them is the legendary composer and Hans Zimmer, who very well remembers Heath Ledger’s casting as the Joker with the current predicament of the new Batman actor Ben Stiller.
In an interview with entertainment website Collider, the “Man of Steel” and “The Dark Knight OST composer said “I think [the response to Affleck’s casting] was incredibly vicious, “I think the way he got attacked was unbelievable. But you know something, when Chris cast Heath Ledger as The Joker maybe we weren’t quite as big yet and maybe it wasn’t quite as visible, but there was a lot of that going on as well, that it was a complete miscasting and ‘only Jack Nicholson can play The Joker.’”
It can be remembered that many were also on a backlash against Ledger’s landing on the role of the Joker, claiming that an actor coming fresh from rom-com roles (not to mention “The Brokeback Mountain”) would not be able to bring one of the most complex characters to life.
After a critically-acclaimed performance and a little posthumous award called an Oscar was given to Ledger, his critics knew they were wrong. Hopefully, this will be the case for poor Ben.
