With her anticipated action flick "The Lone Ranger" slated to hit theaters July 3, Helena Bonham Carter graces the cover of British Vogue's July 2013 issue.

While striking a few gorgeous poses for the Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott-shot spread, the "Sweeney Todd" dame opened up about her relationship with "Edward Scissorhands" director Tim Burton and putting acting on the backburner.

Highlights from Miss Bonham Carter's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to visit British Vogue!

On her love for Tim:
"My Burton is the best Burton. He makes me laugh, but also he's adorable. He's kind, and he's true, and he's honest. He helps me hugely in life because, in many ways, he's the opposite of me. I flit around and over analyze, and he is very instinctive and very steady. He's my anchor - really, truly - and I feel lucky every single day to have found him."

On not making her career the first priority:
"[Acting] is not my sole purpose so there's less pressure on it. Which, of course, means I do it better. But I also found it's less important to me now whether I'm crap or good. I take myself so much less seriously than I used to. I used to be self-critical, it was painful. Now I think, 'OK, so I acted badly today. I'll try and act better tomorrow.' I mean, for God's sake. it's not like I'm a surgeon or something. It doesn't really matter, does it?"

On taking on roles that she finds interesting:
"The research is what I get off on. My mom is a psychologist and I'm very similar to her. I love the challenge or working a character out. Ultimately, I don't think I'm going to learn something from the character I'm playing."
