I had the distinct honour of paying a courtesy call to Apostolic Nuncio H.E. Hubertus von Megen today in Nairobi.

I have great admiration for the Catholic Church’s mission and social teachings. I believe that the Church is not only the moral compass for society but should also give direction on matters that affect human dignity. I thanked the Apostolic Nuncio for the Church’s firm stand on critical issues affecting all Kenyans, such as poverty and injustice, that was equally appreciated by the people.

I look forward to our continued interactions, including encouraging the Church’s engagement in national development, thereby further strengthening our ties with the Holy See.
