The fourth-in-line to the British throne is officially a year old now! Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana captivated the world when she was born exactly a year ago and now we can't help but be mesmerized again by these pictures released by the Kensington Palace. What's even more amazing is that, as expected now, these pictures were taken not by a professional photographer, but by her mum Duchess Kate.

No matter how much the Duke and Duchess would try to raise her in a normal way, the princess is far from being ordinary. Her great grandmother is one of the longest-reigning monarch, while her grandfather, father and older brother are all preparing as heirs to the throne as well. Princess Charlotte was also granted the right to the throne upon her birth despite being a girl.

Named after her great grandmother (Elizabeth) and grandmother (Princess Diana of Wales), she has a lot of expectations to carry, but even now, the Princess looks like she has what it takes to be the next beloved royal (her brother is currently number one in that spot). The pictures show us the pretty toddler looking very much ladylike and is somewhat able to walk already. Charlotte also has very contrasting coloring with her brother George. Whereas he is blonde, Charlotte is dark-haired and while he has brown eyes, she has the striking blue eyes that both her father and grandmother Diana have.

We're really too excited to see this princess grow up into a fine ruler someday!
