For those praying to the comic book gods to have the Spider-Man franchise returned to Marvel Studios so he could join the Avengers, all hope is lost. A few days ago, actor Jamie Foxx hinted director Marc Webb’s plan to unite Spider-Man’s league of villains, the Sinister Six, for the upcoming sequels.

“Yes, they actually talked about it: the Sinister Six. So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it, electricity never dies… it just goes to a different place,” the Academy Award-winning actor told while promoting the home video release of his move “White House Down”. Foxx will be playing Electro, one of the villains in the highly anticipated “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.

In this Post-Avengers Era of comic book movies, studio outfits are following suit in crossing over comic book characters in their franchises to provide a more integrated and singular universe for their characters (a big example of this is the Batman/Superman crossover movie announced in the ComiCon). But since Sony does not have a lot of superheroes in their yard, it is only logical that they just round up the villains instead.

The original Sinister Six is comprised of Electro , Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Mysterio, Sandman, and Kraven the Hunter.
