She’s not usually known for causing divisiveness, but Kate Middleton angered activists by attending her cousin’s wedding at the Dorchester Hotel in London over the weekend.
The Duchess of Cambridge showed up to support her first cousin Adam Middleton as he married Rebecca Poynton, but naysayers are furious because the Dorchester is owned by the sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah.
Mr. Bolkiah abides by Sharia Law, which believes homosexuality and adultery should be punished by death by stoning, and everyone from Stella McCartney (and her famous dad Paul), Sir Richard Branson, Anna Wintour and Stephen Fry have all called for a boycott.
A rep from Kensington Palace has declined to comment on the Duchess’ ‘personal activities,’ though surely she can’t be blamed for putting family first.
