Miss Utah said what?!

To win a beauty contest, one must not only have a beautiful face and a rocking body. She must also possess the right amount of grace, elegance and intelligence.

Miss Connecticut may have taken the crown at the Miss USA competition, but Miss Utah clearly stole the show with her answer. The 21 year old Marissa Powell is now known internationally for her awkward answer. A video of her answer even garnered plenty of views and negative comments when it was posted online.

The question given to her wasn't an easy one though.

"A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?" asked NeNe Leakes of the reality series "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

To which Powell answered:

"I think we can relate this back to education, and how we are continuing to try to strive ... to ... *a very long pause*.. figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem. And I think, especially the men are ... seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to see how to . create education better. So that we can solve this problem. Thank you."

Despite of this fiasco, she was crowned as third runner-up in the competition. It's either the standards are getting lower or there's something seriously wrong with these people.
