My Fellow Kenyans, as one who helped steer this process, I feel a personal responsibility to say this clearly: I believe that The Constitution of Kenya, 2010, is your shield and your defender, your voice and guarantee of a better future. We must never allow a dictatorship committed to reverse our progress to undermine the sacrifices made over the last forty years. This was not what we voted for in 2010.

The task before us is to defend it with the same courage and unity that brought it to life.
