Description
Can't decide between a sweet or salty snack? Make these chocolate covered potato chips and the decision is easy. You won't be able to eat just one! This recipe can also be used for pretzels, popcorn and any kind of nut.
Ingredients
1 lb. high quality milk chocolate, chopped
8 c. ridged potato chips, your favorite brand

Place about 3/4 of the milk chocolate into a heat safe bowl; place bowl over the top of a pot or double boiler of simmering water.
Heat, stirring occasionally until the chocolate has melted. Continue to heat the chocolate to 110 degrees F, stirring occasionally. You might want to use a meat thermometer if your candy thermometer does not go that low.
As soon as the melted chocolate reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the heat; Stir in the remaining chopped chocolate until melted. Continue to stir until the chocolate has cooled to 90 degrees F. If you touch a dab of chocolate to your lip, it should feel cool.
Use tongs to dip potato chips one at a time, halfway down into the chocolate. Place on waxed paper starting at the point farthest away from you and working your way in so that you don't drip on the finished chips.
Let cool until set. Refrigerate if desired.
Serve.
