Great Grandma's Chocolate Cake

Sometimes old recipes are the best. The worthy ones are passed down generation to generation. This is one of those. It's so good, you will be begged for the recipe. And, it isn't made with eggs!
Ingredients
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. whiter sugar
1/3 c. baking cocoa
2 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 c. water
3/4 c. vegetable oil or coconut oil
2 t. pure vanilla extract
2 t. vinegar
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter
2 c powdered sugar
1/3 c. bakers cocoa (Hershey's is great)
dash of salt
3 T. milk
1/2 t. pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2 inch baking pan or 2 - 9 inch round cake pans.
In a mixing bowl, combine the first 5 dry ingredients. Add the water, oil, vanilla, and vinegar. Mix well; the batter will be thin. Pour into the prepared pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely.
Once the cake has cooled, make the frosting.
Frosting:
In a mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar together until creamy. Add the cocoa, salt, vanilla, and milk; mix until creamy.
Frost the cooled cake.
Serve.
12 servings.
Tip: For the frosting, the butter can be melted and mixed with wet ingredients in a bowl prior to adding it to the mixer. It turns out fantastic.
