Description

This special dessert will be a huge hit for any occasion. It's rich and indulgent with chocolate and pecans and is an alcohol free version of the classic recipe.

Ingredients

1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, homemade or store-bought
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
2 T. milk
1 t. vanilla extract
1/4 t. salt
1 1/2 c. pecan halves
3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9" pie plate; crimp the edges as desired. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and well combined.

Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips, distributing evenly throughout the filling.

Pour the filling into the pie crust, use a spatula to spread the pecans evenly on top.

Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the center is set and doesn't jiggle when gently shaken. If the crust browns too quickly, cover the edges with aluminum foil halfway through baking.

Remove the pie from the oven. Let cool completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set.

Serve at room temperature or chilled, garnished with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
