Yeast Activation: In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until it turns bubbly.
Dough: Stir in the warm milk, yogurt, 1/4 c. vegetable oil, and minced garlic. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface; knead for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let Dough Rise: Lightly oil a clean bowl, place the dough inside, cover; let rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape and Cook Naan: Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces; roll each piece into an oval shape.
Heat a greased skillet over medium-high heat. Place a naan piece in the hot skillet; cook until bubbly; flip over; cook until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Garlic Butter Topping: In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped herbs. Brush over the warm naan breads before serving.
