Description
This is an easy to make dessert that's great anytime of the year but especially in the summertime. It starts with a sweet bottom layer, on top of it a sweet and tart fruit layer and ends with a buttery, crumb topping.
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, at room temperature, divided
- 1 c. granulated sugar, divided
- 1 egg
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. fresh blueberries
- 1 c. fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. nutmeg
- sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for optional serving
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9" baking pan.
- In a small bowl, cream 1/4 c. butter and 1/2 c. sugar; blend in the egg and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, stir together 1 c. flour, baking powder, and salt.
