Indulge in this decadent, easy-to-make dessert that combines the perfect balance of caramel and apples
1 (9 ounce) package Werther's Original Baking Caramels, unwrapped
4 teaspoons milk, divided
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 pound cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup apple pie filling
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, divided
1. Set aside 4 caramels. Microwave remaining caramels with 3 teaspoons milk for 21/2 minutes in a microwave safe bowl on HIGH, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes. Pour caramel into crust; sprinkle with nuts.
2. Beat cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in the bowl of an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth; stir in pie filling.
3. Beat 1 cup of heavy cream to form medium peaks. Fold into cream cheese mixture. Spread over caramel layer in crust. Chill for at least 4 hours.
4. To garnish: Whip remaining 1/2 cup cream. Spread over top of pie. Microwave reserved caramels with 1 tsp. milk on high 30 seconds or until melted. Let cool 5 minutes and drizzle over whipped cream.
