You will love these crispy fried spring rolls that are a traditional Filipino dish. They can be served as a side dish or as an appetizer.
8 ounces ground pork
4 ounces carrots, minced
4 ounces celery, minced
1 small onion, minced
1 ounce garlic
1 ounce water chestnuts
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 egg
1 pack spring roll wrappers
canola or vegetable oil for frying
Combine all ingredients and let sit overnight.
Spread a thin strip of mixture on a spring roll wrapper and roll tightly leaving a half-inch of the wrapper exposed. Paint the exposed part with egg wash and wrap tightly. Set on a baking sheet and repeat until done.
Let rest for an hour in the fridge.
Fry at 350F until golden-brown, then drain on paper towels and serve.
