Description
This creme brulee is so easy to make and tastes better than a 5 star restaurant's! Save it for those special occasions when you want to make an impression. It is rich in calories, but it is worth every bite!
Ingredients
- 4 c. heavy whipping cream (reduced fat may be okay)
- 9 egg yolks
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- brown sugar
Steps
- In a large saucepan, combine the cream, egg yolks and sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture reaches 160° or is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Stir in vanilla. Strain egg mixture.
- Transfer to eight 6-oz. ramekins. Place cups in a baking pan; add 1 in. of boiling water to pan.
- Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 25-30 minutes or until centers are just set (mixture will jiggle).
