Use your crock pot to make these wonderfully delicious dessert. Serve it over ice cream and with cookies and everyone will be happy! There is very little clean-up when you use a crock pot liner!
6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut in eight slices
1 T. lemon juice, fresh
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
2 T. flour
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. ground nutmeg
6 T. butter, melted
vanilla ice cream-optional
your choice of cookies-optional
Place crock pot liner in a 5-6 1/2 qt. crock. Put apples in the crock pot and then drizzle with the fresh lemon juice.
Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl then sprinkle the mixture over the apples, stir gently to coat apples. Drizzle with butter and then put the lid on slow cooker.
Cook on low for 3 hours or on high for 2 hours until apples are done.
Very carefull lift the lid to allow steam to escape. Spoon warm apple topping over ice cream and serve with cookies, if desired.
