Description
Turn boring meatballs into fabulous with this recipe. Serve as an appetizer, or how about as the meat dish with pasta?
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb. lean ground beef
- 3/4 lb. ground pork
- 1/2 c. cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 t. salt
- pepper, freshly ground
- 1 egg
- 2 T. olive oil
- Bourbon Sauce
- 1 c. apricot preserves
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 T. chili sauce
- 1/2 c. bourbon
- 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
- 1/4 c. water
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put the first 7 ingredients, in a large bowl, breaking up the meat as you go. Mix together, using your hands to gently combine everything without compacting the meat. Form into 1 inch balls.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan, brown the meatballs, working in batches. Transfer meatballs to a baking sheet, and bake for about 10 minutes, until cooked through.
