Chocolate lovers will love this quick and easy dessert that is easy on the pocketbook as well. But you would never know because it is rich with a chocolate cake layer with a fudgy sauce below. Serve it with vanilla ice cream to make it even more magical.
Cobbler:
6 T. butter
1 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. white sugar
2 T. cocoa powder
1 t. instant coffee
1/2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla extract
Topping:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. cocoa powder
Cobbler:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Put butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish and allow to melt in the oven.
Mix dry ingredients. Pour in milk and vanilla. When butter has melted, pour chocolate mixture on top of butter. Pour evenly across the dish because you won't be able to spread it once it is in the dish.
Topping:
Mix dry ingredients, sprinkle over top of the chocolate cobbler.
Slowly pour hot water over the everything.
Bake 30-35 minutes until top has hardened, but cobbler is still a little jiggly in the center.
Serve warm with ice cream.
