This is an easy dessert to make with very little clean up. You just dump all the ingredients into your crock pot and forget about it till it is time to serve!
5-7 Granny Smith Apples
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 t. cinnamon, divided
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 c. oats (quick cook or old-fashioned)
1 stick butter, sliced
Line crock with crock pot liner for easy clean up. Spray the liner with cooking spray. If you don't use a liner, spray the crock with the cooking spray.
Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly into bite-sized pieces.
Place apples in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle with sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Place the cake mix in a large bowl. Add oats and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir, then sprinkle over the top of the apples. Drop slices of butter over the top of the cake mix.
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
Makes 8-10 servings.
