So simple and cute and tasty too! They would be a great treat for Halloween, birthday party or any fall function or get together.
1/4 bag mini pretzels
1 bag M&M's candy, only the green ones
orange food coloring
1-10 oz. bag white chocolate chips, melted slowly
1 T. shortening, to thin out chocolate
Melt the chocolate. Add the shortening before putting it in the microwave. Shortening is the only thing that will work, neither water or butter will work.
Go slowly! White chocolate seizes easily, and you don't want to coat your pretzels with grainy chocolate. Go slowly and stir minimally. Put on for 1 minute, stir gently, then put it in for an additional minute. Chocolate may still look solid, but it isn't. Add orange coloring and stir gently, until it is nice and smooth.
(There are Wilton melts in orange if you can find them.)
Dunk the pretzels with your fingers. Lay out on a piece of waxed paper. While still wet, take a green M&M and set it in the crook of the pretzel, on it's side to make the stem.
If there are a few bare spots on the pretzels, while they are still wet, dab some more chocolate on them using your fingers. Let them dry and cool for an hour or so. Or stick the tray in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
