A yummy dessert-like salad.
3/4 cup butter
3 T. brown sugar
2 1/2 cups pretzels, broken but not too fine
2-8 oz. pkgs fresh strawberries
1 large pkg. strawberry jello
1 cup sugar
1-8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1-6 oz Cool Whip
Cream butter and sugar, mix in pretzels, mix and pat into a lightly buttered 9x13 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool.
Dissolve jello in boiling water, add frozen strawberries and stir until strawberries are thawed. Cream sugar and cream cheese, fold in Cool Whip. Spread over pretzel mix. Refrigerate until firm. Pour strawberry mixture over cheese mix and refrigerate until jello mixture is set. Cut into squares and serve on lettuce leaf. The pretzels taste like pecans.
