Ingredients
- 1/2 loaf - plain white bread
- 4 oz. melted butter
- 6 whole eggs
- 24 oz. milk
- 8 oz. heavy cream
- 1/2 lb. sugar
- 1 c. raisins
- vanilla extract, to taste
- Vanilla Sauce:
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 T. flour
- 1 T. vanilla extract
- 1/4 t. salt
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Steps
- Bread Pudding:
- Cut bread slices into one-inch squares and toast in a hot oven. Place in the bottom of a casserole dish and drizzle with melted butter. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread. Bake at 350 degrees until custard is firm, approximately 45 minutes.
