Need an appetizer for a get together? Make these Reuben-like pigs in a blanket and serve alone or with Russian or Thousand Island dressing or your favorite dip.

Ingredients

• all-purpose flour, for dusting
• 1 sheet puff pastry
• 1 large egg, for egg wash
• 1/2 c. Swiss cheese, grated
• 1/2 c. sauerkraut
• 24 mini hot dogs
• poppy seeds or caraway seeds, for garnish

Steps

1. Preheat oven 450 degrees. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper and cooking spray.
2. Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out puff pastry into a large rectangle about 14x11 inches. Cut lengthwise into six 1 inch strips. Cut each strip crosswise into 4 rectangles.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and 1 tablespoon water to create an egg wash. Set aside.
