2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 c unsalted butter
1 t. salt
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
1 pinch ground allspice
5 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
1 vanilla bean
8 c. hot water
2 c. rum
whipped cream
ground nutmeg
ground cinnamon
Place a slow cooker liner in the slow cooker for easy clean up.
In the slow cooker, mix all ingredients except rum. Cover; cook on Low heat setting about 5 hours or until warm. Stir in rum.
Serve in glasses or mugs topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with ground nutmeg and cinnamon.
