These little sausages make the best appetizers and can be either beef or pork. You can make them a little spicier by spreading some Dijon mustard over them before wrapping the bacon around them, and then by adding some chili powder to the brown sugar mixt
1 lb. bacon
1 lb. Lil’ Smokies sausages, beef or pork
1 stick butter
2 c. brown sugar, divided
Preheat oven to 375.
Cut bacon into thirds and then wrap around each smokie sausage. Place wrapped smokies in a single layer in a baking dish.
Melt butter and then 1 cup brown sugar and stir until well mixed.
Pour butter and brown sugar mixture on the smokies and bacon.
Sprinkle remaining brown sugar evenly over the smokies.
Bake about 15-20 minutes, and then turn the heat up to 400 for about 5 minutes or longer until the bacon becomes crispy.
