There is no need to bother with making all of those time consuming individual chocolate chip cookies anymore! Just make this large skillet chocolate chip cookie instead. It is just as delicious and so much easier.
¾ c. melted butter
1 c. brown sugar
½ c. granulated sugar
1 egg plus 1 yolk
2 c. flour
¾ t. baking soda
1 t. kosher salt
2 t. vanilla
1½ c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon, combine melted butter and both sugars. Stir until lumps disappear.
Stir in vanilla, egg and yolk until mixture is smooth and egg is fully incorporated. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Spread evenly in a 10 inch cast-iron skillet.
Bake 15-20 minutes until edges start to turn golden, but do not overcook. The center will appear slightly loose.
Cool 10 minutes on a wire rack and scoop onto plates or bowls.
Optional: serve warm with ice cream.
