Amish Broccoli, Cauliflower and Bacon Salad

Description

This wonderfully delicious salad involves no cooking and just a small amount of time to prepare. It will be a definite hit at any gathering that you bring it to or at home for the family.

Ingredients

2 large bunches of broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 c. mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
1 c. sour cream
1⁄2 c. sugar
1⁄2 t. salt
1⁄2 lb. bacon, fried and crumbled
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese, Gouda or your favorite cheese
1 c. cherry tomatoes, halved, optional
1-2 small shallots, sliced (or red/purple onion), optional
sunflower seeds, for garnish, optional

Combine broccoli and cauliflower in large bowl.

In a small bowl, combine the mayo, sour cream, sugar and salt to make a dressing.

Add the dressing to the veggie mix, stirring to evenly coat the veggies.

Stir in the bacon and cheese, reserving a small amount to sprinkle on top of salad just before serving.

Refrigerate until serving. Store leftovers in fridge.
