No cake is easier than a dump cake. Just place (or dump) all ingredients in a dish and bake. That's it. You will get a fresh and juicy filling in a cake that is simply delicious.
1 lb. fresh rhubarb, chopped into 1/4 inch pieces
3/4 c. sugar
1- 3 oz. package Strawberry Flavored Gelatin
1 two layer sized white or yellow cake mix
1 c. water
1/3 c. butter, melted
3/4 c. thawed whipped topping
ground cinnamon or ginger, for garnish-optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Place rhubarb in 13x9 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with sugar, then the dry gelatin mix.
Beat the cake mix, water and butter with a whisk until blended and then pour over the rhubarb. Spread to completely cover the rhubarb.
Bake 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm and topped with a dollop of whipped topping. Garnish with ground cinnamon or ginger, if desired.
