Tired of spaghetti? Make mostaccioli instead. It is so easy and very comforting!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lb. mild Italian sausage
- 2 small onion, chopped or grated
- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 t. dried basil
- 1 t. dried oregano
- 2 pinches Italian seasoning
- 1 large jar spaghetti sauce, your favorite (at least 28 oz.)
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese or more to taste
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 16 oz. mostaccioli
- 12 oz. Mozzarella, shredded or Provolone cheese
- fresh parsley, chopped
Steps
- In a large pot, cook the meats, onions and garlic until the meat is no longer pink and fully cooked.
- Measure and add in the basil, oregano, Italian seasoning and stir.
- Pour in the spaghetti sauce and then the Parmesan cheese, the sugar, salt and ground black pepper. Stir, cover and reduce the temperature to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
