This is a great BBQ sauce for grilling, dipping or slow cooking. It's homemade, so you know that the ingredients are fresh.
1 T. granulated onion
1 t. granulated garlic
1 c. ketchup
3 T. tomato paste
12 oz. can Dr. Pepper
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. packed dark brown sugar
1/2 t. liquid smoke
2 t. chili powder
1 t. fine-ground white pepper
1 t. kosher salt
Place all ingredients to a large saucepan; whisk to combine. Put over medium-high heat; cook, stirring often until mixture starts to bubble. Lower to simmer: cook 5 minutes or until sugar has dissolved.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
