Combine the flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with a gooey butter cake and you will have everyone loving you forever!
1 German Chocolate or chocolate cake mix
½ c. butter, melted
1 egg
2nd layer:
8 peanut butter cups, large ones
3 small Butterfinger candy bars
cream cheese layer:
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1 c. peanut butter
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla
½ c. butter, melted
4 c. powdered sugar
chocolate topping:
½ c. chocolate chips
1 T. canola oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees or 325 degrees if using glass. Spray a 9x12 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine cake mix, egg and butter together; beat until combined. Put the cake mix layer on the bottom of the prepared pan; pat it down.
Cut the large peanut butter cups into 4 pieces each. Roughly chop the Butterfingers. Spread evenly over the cake layer.
Stir the cream cheese, vanilla and peanut butter together until combined. Add the eggs one at a time and mix; add the butter. When well combined add the powdered sugar. Spread evenly over the candy bar layer.
Bake about 50 minutes. If using a glass pan, it could take just over an hour, or up to 1 hour 20 minutes. Insert a wooden toothpick in center. If it comes out clean it is done. It will be puffed up in the center and will be a little jiggly. Remove from oven; cool.
Melt the chocolate for 1 minute in the microwave; add the oil. Stir until combined. Spread over the top of the cream cheese layer.
