You can enjoy these donut holes in under 30 minutes without even leaving the comfort of your own home. Yum!
donut holes:
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. kosher salt
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/3 c. granulated sugar
4 T. unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1/3 c. milk
topping and filling:
3 T. melted unsalted butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray enough mini-muffin pans to make 24 donuts with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, add all donut ingredients; blend with electric mixer until combined, about 2-3 minutes. Using a tablespoon measure, spoon into muffin cups; bake about 13-15 minutes.
Remove from oven; cool 5-10 minutes in the pan. Flip each donut hole onto its side, to make it easier to fill with Nutella. Fill a piping bag with Nutella, and using a size 5 tip, squirt the Nutella into the side of the donut hole, applying enough pressure to see the donut hole expand. Repeat until all donut holes are filled.
Melt butter and place in small bowl. Add sugar to a separate bowl. Drop donut into the butter, roll around and then drop into sugar, coating generously. Allow to set about 10 minutes. They are best enjoyed in 24 hours.
