These treats are Filipino donuts that are twisted and then rolled in sugar. Enjoy them as a dessert, snack or for breakfast.
4 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. salt
2 t. dry active yeast
1 c. lukewarm water

1/4 c. white sugar
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups flour. Mix and knead until smooth.
Use remaining flour during kneading.
Form into a ball; let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour. This process will double the size of the dough. Punch down; divide into 20 portions.
Roll each portion into a 10 inch cylinder; twist like a rope.
Fry about 1-2 minutes on each side in deep hot oil until golden brown.
Roll in white sugar.
Serve warm, if possible.
