Description
Make this delicious pasta for a meatless meal or serve it as a side dish. It is easy and so yummy.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. box penne or penne rigate, cooked as directed, drained and kept hot
- 2 T. butter or margarine
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 T. flour
- 3⁄4 c. chicken broth/stock or beef broth/stock
- 3⁄4 c. milk
- 2 t. parsley flakes
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1⁄3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Steps
- Cook pasta according to package directions, about 11 minutes. Drain and keep hot. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter/margarine; add garlic; cook over medium heat 1 minute. Add flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in broth/stock and milk; cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens.
- Add parsley, salt, pepper and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
