Dessert will be a big hit when you serve this wonderfully delicious cake. It's so good, everyone will want seconds, so be sure to make enough.
4 eggs, at room temperature
1 t. vanilla extract
1 ¼ c. sugar
1/3 c. or 3 oz. butter, melted
½ c. all purpose flour
⅓ c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 c. milk, lukewarm
1 T. powdered sugar, for dusting
Preheat oven to 320 degrees.
Grease a 12x7 (or close) baking pan lined with parchment paper.
Separate egg whites and yolks. Beat egg whites in a bowl until stiff; set aside.
Whisk egg yolks, vanilla and sugar until creamy. Add melted butter; mix 30 seconds.
Add the flour and unsweetened cocoa powder; mix with a spatula until well incorporated. Pour the milk gradually; continue beating. Add in egg whites, one third at a time; gently mix with a spatula. Pour this into the baking pan; bake 60 minutes.
Cool. When it is at room temperature, chill for 1 hour.
Slice and dust with powdered sugar right before serving.
Keep leftovers refrigerated.
