What to do with all of those apples that you picked when you went apple picking? Here is an idea-bake them! That's right, bake them stuffed with goodies like brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and pecans!
Ingredients
- 4 large baking apples, such as Honeycrisp, Granny Smith or other tart green apples
- 1/2 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3/4-1 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- 3/4 c. water
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Wash apples. Core apples from the top by cutting out the core and scooping it out leaving a well and enough of the base of the apple to hold the filling. Don't cut all the way through.
- Combine butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped pecans in a small bowl. Roll cylinder shapes of the mixture and press enough into each apple to fill the core.
