The combination of semi-sweet chocolate, peanut butter chips and peanuts makes this chocolate candy a treat you will love. It's a must to have around the holidays.
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate baking bar
1 2/3 c. (10 oz. pkg.) peanut butter chips
1 T. shortening
1/2 c. roasted peanuts
Cover cookie sheet or tray with wax paper.
Place chocolate in a medium sized microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each heating, until chocolate is melted and smooth when stirred.
Place peanut butter chips and shortening in a second microwave-safe bowl and have it ready to place in microwave once the chocolate is melted.
Immediately place the second bowl with peanut butter chips and shortening bowl in the microwave and microwave it on Medium 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each heating, until chocolate is melted and smooth when stirred; stir in peanuts.
Alternately, spoon the 2 mixtures onto the prepared tray; swirl with a knife for a marbled effect. Gently tap tray on countertop to even out thickness of the mixture.
Refrigerate about 1 hour or until firm.
Remove from the fridge and break into pieces. Store in a cool, dry place.
Yield: about 1 lb.
